Piano Tuning

The most helpful thing you can do to maintain your piano is to have it tuned regularly. Seasonal humidity changes are the biggest cause for your piano going out of tune. This is one of the primary reasons it is recommended to have your piano tuned bi-annually (more for institutions). Pianos left un-tuned for many years go more and more out of tune. When this happens, generally more than one tuning is required, a pitch correction (course tuning) before a fine tuning is able to be done. I can meet whatever your piano needs.

Problem solving is a big part of what I do. With thousands of parts to a piano, many things can go wrong or stop working as they should. Whether you have sluggish keys, a broken string, a damper that doesn’t work, a broken key or broken action parts (inner working parts between the keys and the hammers that strike the strings), pedal issues, an undesirable “noise", or something else, I can fix or replace broken or malfunctioning parts so that your piano functions properly and you can get back to enjoying your piano.

Piano Regulation

Your piano has many complex and moving parts that all need to be carefully adjusted in order for it to work together correctly. As your piano starts to fall out of regulation you may start to experience frustration as a player due to inconsistent touch/feel, poor response, decreased dynamic control and more. Minor or major adjustments can be made to the action, keyboard and pedals to get your piano performing and sounding its best. Better control and increased performance are well worth this service.
